Kings' Nolan suspended one game for punching opponent

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Kings forward Jordan Nolan has been suspended one game without pay for a sucker punch on Edmonton Oilers forward Jesse Joensuu during Sunday's game.

The incident occurred with four seconds left in the second period. At the end of a scrum in front of the Kings net, Nolan punched Joensuu in the face while he was tied up by an official.

Nolan was assessed a double-minor penalty for roughing.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Nolan will forfeit $3,589.74. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
