Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Kings defenseman Alec Martinez had surgery Friday to repair an injured finger, according to the team's official site.

Martinez exited Thursday's 2-0 loss to Dallas midway through the second period and did not return. The Kings have yet to provide a timetable on how long he'll be sidelined.

The 27-year-old clinched Los Angeles' second Stanley Cup in three seasons with an overtime goal in Game 5 of the Finals against the New York Rangers last June. The marker was Martinez's fifth of the 2014 Playoffs.

Through 17 games this season, Martinez has recorded two goals, five assists and a plus-nine rating.
