Kings C Richardson out following appendectomy

The Los Angeles Kings will have to deal without center Brad Richardson for an indefinite period, following an appendectomy on Monday night.

Richardson, 27, played in just 59 regular-season games while posting five goals and eight points with a minus-six rating.

LA gets its best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series with the Canucks underway on Wednesday at Vancouver.

To fill the roster spot, the Kings recalled forward Andrei Loktionov from Manchester of the American Hockey League. The 21-year-old Russian appeared in 39 games and totaled three goals with seven points.
