Kentucky head coach John Calipari has seen his second reserve go down this week, announcing that Derek Willis suffered a finger injury on his left hand during Saturday's practice.

"I'm happy that it's not something that will keep Derek out very long, but I'm disappointed because I really wanted him to participate in tomorrow's open practice," Calipari said in a statement. "It's nothing serious and he will be back in a couple weeks, but I'm disappointed for him because he had been doing so well. He deserved to show his stuff tomorrow. He's made great strides and will bounce back from this."

Earlier this week, guard Dominique Hawkins broke a bone in his right hand. He is expected to miss a month. Willis could be back for the Blue-White Scrimmage on Oct. 27.

The 6-foot-9 forward has averaged 1.2 points per game through his first two seasons in Lexington.

Kentucky opens the 2015-16 season against Albany on Nov. 13.
