Justin Wilson jumps on board for rest of season with Andretti Autosport

Published May 03, 2016

Associated Press

Michael Andretti is giving Justin Wilson another shot.

Andretti Autosport announced Tuesday that the 36-year-old Englishman has been hired for the final five races of the IndyCar season and will again drive the No. 25 car. Wilson competed in two races with Andretti's team earlier this year in the same car. He finished 29th in the road race at Indianapolis and 30th in the Indianapolis 500.

The Honda-powered team will now compete with four cars for the rest of the season.

Wilson has made 170 IndyCar starts, won seven races, eight poles and finished on the podium 26 times.

He is hoping a finishing flourish will help him land a full-time job for the 2016 season.
