John retains WBA featherweight title

Chris John remained undefeated with a unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo on Friday to retain his WBA featherweight title.

John (48-0-2, 22 KOs) successfully defended his title for the 17th time.

Piriyapinyo (44-1) was in his first title fight and his first bout outside of Thailand. The Thai native held multiple regional belts since 2004 and had won his last six fights by knockout.
