John retains WBA featherweight belt

Chris John defeated Shoji Kimura on Saturday to retain his WBA featherweight title at the Marina Bay Sands.

John successfully defended his belt for the 16th time and improved to 47-0-2 with a one-sided 12-round unanimous decision. He won by scores of 118-109, 118-109, 117-110.

Kimura fell to 24-5-2.
