Jets invite cousin of Giants' Beckham for rookie camp tryout

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) The New York Jets have invited Terron Beckham, a cousin of Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., to attend their rookie minicamp next week on a tryout basis.

Mike Celli, the agent for Terron Beckham, announced on Twitter on Saturday night - a few hours after the NFL draft concluded - that the Jets offered his client an opportunity.

The 23-year-old Beckham is a running back who last played football in high school. The powerfully built Beckham, listed at 5-foot-11 and 223 pounds, has been a personal trainer the last few years. But he had the urge to follow in the football footsteps of his famous cousin.

He had an impressive performance at a pro day at TEST Sports Club in New Jersey in early April in front of a handful of teams, including the Jets and Giants.
