Metz, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Seventh seed Jerzy Janowicz posted a come- from-behind first-round win Tuesday at the Moselle Open men's tennis event.

The 6-foot-8 Pole overcame Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 in just over two hours on the indoor hardcourts at Metz Arena. The big-hitting affair featured 25 aces, including 14 by Mannarino.

Also on Day 2, Italian Paolo Lorenzi handled French wild card Laurent Lokoli 6-2, 6-4; Poland's Michal Przysiezny edged out French fellow qualifier Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4); German Tobias Kamke topped French qualifier Kenny De Schepper 6-3, 7-6 (7-5); and Dutchman Igor Sijsling was leading Andreas Seppi 6-0, 4-1 when the Italian veteran and 2012 Metz runner- up retired. Przysiezny will meet second-seeded Frenchman and 2009 Metz champion Gael Monfils in the round of 16.

Two-time winner Gilles Simon beat then reigning two-time champ Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in last year's all-French finale.

A top-seeded Tsonga will meet left-hander Gilles Muller of Luxembourg in a second-round match on Wednesday.

Frenchmen have won five straight and seven of the 11 titles in Metz.

The 2014 titlist will earn $100,000.
