Jake Arrieta is a World Series champion and an NL Cy Young Award winner, but even he can't win them all.

The Chicago Cubs right-hander reluctantly (and painfully) paid off a bet with teammate Tommy La Stella on Friday. Here's proof:

According to MLB.com, Arrieta and La Stella made a bet back in June on the College World Series semifinals matchup that featured their alma maters -- Arrieta attended TCU, while La Stella is a Coastal Carolina alum.

As you might remember -- and probably can guess from Arrieta's new ink -- Coastal Carolina won that matchup and ultimately won the championship.

And Arrieta has permanent proof of that.
