Lonnie Jackson hit a 3-pointer with 27.4 seconds left to give Boston College the lead, and the Eagles pulled away for a 62-59 win over Virginia Tech on Saturday.

BC (5-11, 1-2 ACC) snapped a four-game losing streak. The Eagles had lost seven of their previous eight games.

Virginia Tech (8-7, 1-2 ACC) had taken a 59-58 lead on a 3-pointer by C.J. Barksdale with 1:36 remaining. But after a timeout, Jackson hit the 3-pointer — his only points of the second half.

Jackson led BC with 17 points. Olivier Hanlan added 14.

The Hokies had a chance to tie or take the lead. Virginia Tech called a timeout with 22.8 seconds left, but with two seconds remaining, Adam Smith missed a jumper that would have tied it. The Hokies fouled Joe Rahon, who made 1 of 2 from the free-throw line with a second left.

Smith led the Hokies with 12 points.
