IndyCar veteran Tom Anderson leaves Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

IndyCar veteran Tom Anderson has left Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

Anderson joined the program last November as director of motorsports operations as co-owner Bobby Rahal was restarting his IndyCar team. On Friday, Rahal said Anderson had left the organization but did not cite a reason.

Anderson was managing director for Chip Ganassi Racing when the team won four consecutive CART titles from 1996 to 1999. He joined Andretti Autosport in 2009, but was let go before the Indianapolis 500 in 2011 when Andretti cars struggled in the lead-up to the race.

Anderson helped Rahal restart an IndyCar program that had been dormant for three seasons.
