The Carolina Hurricanes placed forwards Jussi Jokinen and Tim Wallace on waivers Tuesday.
Jokinen's production has declined steadily since his first full season with the Hurricanes in 2008-09.
After registering 30 goals and 65 points in 2009-10, the Finn totaled 31 goals and 67 assists over the next two seasons.
This year he has compiled only five goals, 10 points and a minus-7 rating in 30 games.
Jokinen, 29, is in the second year of a three-year contract that pays him $3 million annually.
The 28-year-old Wallace has scored one goal in 21 games with the Hurricanes this season.
