LSU handed Lane Kiffin a full rebuild this offseason, and Leavitt was the centerpiece of it. Now he steps into Tiger Stadium under the lights, behind an offensive line anchored by five-star tackle Jordan Seaton, against a Clemson defense replacing its own share of experience. A clean, confident debut would go a long way toward proving Kiffin’s roster overhaul can compete immediately in the SEC.
Clemson turns the page on the Cade Klubnik era in about the toughest spot imaginable: a true road opener at Tiger Stadium. Vizzina spent three seasons waiting behind Klubnik and has exactly one career start to his name, a 317-yard, three-touchdown outing against SMU last season that at least answered some early questions. He’s a bigger, more traditional pocket passer than his predecessor, which changes how Dabo Swinney’s offense will attack LSU’s front. How Vizzina handles the noise and disguised looks of a hostile SEC environment will say a lot about Clemson’s ceiling in 2026.
No tight end in the country produced more touchdowns than Green a year ago, and PFF has rewarded him with a No. 1 ranking at the position entering 2026. The Zachary, Louisiana native caught 33 passes for 433 yards and seven scores as a sophomore, already the program record for touchdown receptions by a tight end, and he’s a matchup problem at 6-foot-7 with legitimate track speed down the seam. Clemson’s front seven is still finding its identity after offseason turnover, and if Green wins early against linebackers in coverage, LSU has an easy answer for a new starting quarterback to lean on.
Clemson needs a security blanket for a first-time starter walking into a hostile SEC building, and that’s the job Moore has already shown he can do. He led the Tigers in receiving a season ago with 837 yards, the clearest proof that Clemson’s passing game doesn’t start and end with names like Bryant Wesco. With Wesco working back from a back injury that cost him half of last season, Moore’s role as Vizzina’s most trusted target only grows, and LSU’s secondary will have to account for him on early downs just to slow this offense down.
