Hot-shooting Eatherton's 22 points carries Northeastern past Manhattan, 65-51

Associated Press

Scott Eatherton pumped in 22 points and Northeastern used some torrid shooting to post a 65-51 win over Manhattan Sunday night in the championship game of the Hall of Fame Tipoff tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The victory gives the Huskies a 4-0 start to the season and a tournament sweep, with wins over Florida State and Navy to reach the title game.

Eatherton rarely missed, hitting 6 of 8 from the field and a perfect 10 for 10 from the line. Zach Stahl was almost as impressive on offense, hitting 6 of 9 from the field and 4 of 4 from the line. Both pulled down a team-high eight boards.

Northeastern was an economical 21 of 38 from the field (55.3 percent), converting 5 of 9 from long range and 18 of 19 from the line.

Tyler Wilson scored a dozen points to lead the Jaspers (1-3).
