Charles Jenkins scored a career-high 40 points to lead Hofstra to an 89-85 overtime victory over Binghamton on Wednesday night.

Jenkins, who entered averaging 22.3 points a game, surpassed his previous high of 38, set last year against Fairfield, and became the first Hofstra player to reach 40 since Speedy Claxton did it twice in the 1999-2000 season.

Jenkins was 14 of 22 from the field, including three 3-pointers, was 9 of 12 from the line and had five rebounds and six assists.

Mike Moore scored five of his 28 points in overtime as the Pride (5-3) took an 87-80 lead with 13 seconds left. Moore added eight rebounds for the Pride, who have won four consecutive games.

Hofstra was 4 of 6 (66.7 percent) from the field in overtime.

Greer Wright scored 28 points, Jimmy Gray had 18 and Chretien Lukusa added 13 for Binghamton (1-6), which has lost six straight.
