Hinrich won't play in Game 7

Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich will not play in Saturday's deciding Game 7 of the team's Eastern Conference quarterfinals series with the Brooklyn Nets.

Hinrich also missed the last two matchups of this set -- both Chicago losses -- with a left calf injury, but did travel with the Bulls to Brooklyn and had been listed as a game-time decision. However, head coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters prior to warmups that the veteran point guard had been ruled out.

The Bulls were already entering Saturday's do-or-die showdown without Luol Deng, the club's leading scorer during the regular season who spent part of Saturday hospitalized back in Chicago with an unknown illness. The Chicago Tribune reported that the forward developed complications from a spinal tap he underwent earlier in the week.

Deng sat out Thursday's Game 6, a 95-92 Nets' win in Chicago that evened the series at 3-3, as well.
