Roberto Hilbert has returned to Germany after signing a contract with Bayer Leverkusen on Friday.

Hilbert spent the past three seasons in Turkey with Besiktas, and he moves to Leverkusen on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old Hilbert has spent time in Germany with Stuttgart and Greuther Furth during his career, and he joins a Leverkusen side that finished third in the Bundesliga last season.

Hilbert's arrival is expected to help fill the void left by the departure of Andre Schurrle, who moved to Chelsea this summer.

In addition to Hilbert, Leverkusen has also signed Heung Min Son, Robbie Kruse and Giulio Donati this summer.
