Heisman front-runner Klein, No. 2 K-State head to Baylor, 2 wins away from likely title shot

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

Collin Klein and Kansas State are two wins away from almost certainly playing for the school's first national championship.

The second-ranked Wildcats (10-0) are headed to Texas for the second Saturday night in a row. This time they play Baylor (4-5), which is still trying to get bowl eligible after losing its Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback to the NFL.

The Wildcats, No. 1 in the latest BCS rankings, know their title dreams will be out of reach if they lose one of their last two regular-season games. Heisman Trophy front-running quarterback Klein says they still haven't played their best game.

K-State is coming off its lowest-scoring outing of the season, in a 23-10 win at TCU. There were two turnovers, after only one the previous six games.
