Head injuries will keep 2 Fever players at home

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

The Indiana Fever will be without two starting guards for at least the next two games.

Team officials say Briann January and Shavonte Zellous have returned to Indianapolis after sustaining head injuries during the 86-79 loss Monday night at Minnesota. Neither will be available for Wednesday night's game at Connecticut or Friday at Washington.

Both players will be checked by the team's medical staff as Indiana prepares for the start of the WNBA playoffs. The Fever earned the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Zellous has started all 31 games this season and was averaging 7.5 points. January started the last 26 games and was averaging 10.3 points and a team-high 3.9 assists.
