Hawks end Nets' streak in rout

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - DeMarre Carroll had 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists as the Atlanta Hawks routed the Brooklyn Nets 131-99 on Saturday night.

Al Horford also netted 20 points and Jeff Teague added 17 and eight assists for the Hawks, who have won four of their last six games.

"We came in with the mindset of really getting ready for the playoffs," said Carroll. "Coach just stressed the importance of these games leading into the playoffs."

Bojan Bogdanovic scored 19 points to lead Brooklyn, which had its six-game winning streak snapped.

"If we move the ball like they move the ball, good things will happen," Nets forward Thaddeus Young said.

The Nets are a half game ahead of Boston for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.

Horford netted eight quick points as the Hawks raced out to a 10-2 start. They never looked back.

Bogdanovic's layup in the waning moments of the first quarter cut Brooklyn's deficit to 31-22, but Atlanta began the second on an extended 27-11 run to turn the game into a laugher.

Pero Antic knocked down a pair of 3-pointers to start the surge and Paul Millsap poured the final four points to cap it, including two free throws for a 58-33 cushion with 4:56 left in the first half.

The Hawks were up 66-48 at the break and 108-71 heading into the fourth.

Mike Scott returned for the Hawks after missing the last 10 games due to a left toe injury ... Atlanta scored 33 points off 21 Brooklyn turnovers ... Atlanta shot 59.8 percent (49-of-82) from the floor and connected on 17-of-33 3-pointers.
