Hanie, Bears beat Bills in preseason opener

Second-string quarterback Caleb Hanie's four- 3 victory over the Bills in the preseason opener for both squads.

Newly-acquired running back Marion Barber was the workhorse on the scoring drive, carrying the ball six times for 37 yards. Barber finished with 45 yards on seven carries.

Jay Cutler, coming off his much criticized performance in last season's NFC Championship game in which he left with a sprained MCL, completed the only pass he threw in one series for no gain.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was efficient for the Bills, completing 7-of-9 pass attempts for 44 yards.
