Hailee Cooper, Kaitlyn Papp win US Women's Amateur 4-Ball

Hailee Cooper and Kaitlyn Papp won the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship on Wednesday at Streamsong Resort, outlasting 13-year-olds Angelina Kim and Brianna Navarrosa with a par on the first extra hole.

The 16-year-old Cooper is from Montgomery, Texas, and the 17-year-old Papp is from Austin, Texas.

Kim, from Los Angeles, and Navarrosa, from San Diego, rallied to tie the match, winning the par-4 11th with a par and the par-5 14th with a birdie. Cooper and Papp won the par-4 first and par-5 second holes, Kim and Navarrosa took the par-4 sixth and Cooper and Papp restored their two-hole lead with a birdie on the par-4 eighth.

In the morning semifinals, Cooper and Papp beat Alexandra Austin and 2015 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur champion Lauren Greenlief 4 and 3, and Kim and Navarrosa topped Pauline Del Rosario and 2014 U.S. Girls' Junior champion Princess Mary Superal 3 and 2.
