Grizzlies name Donewald Jr. D-League coach

Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Memphis Grizzlies have named Bob Donewald Jr. as the new head coach of their D-League affiliate, the Iowa Energy.

Donewald has accumulated more than 20 years of coaching experience in five different countries, including the United States, England, Brazil, Ukraine and China.

"We are pleased to welcome Bob to our organization," said Jed Kaplan, managing partner of the Energy. "Bob has a great passion for the game, and we are excited for him to become a member of the Iowa community.

The Grizzlies and Energy have a single-affiliation partnership beginning in the upcoming 2014-15 season. Memphis became the 14th NBA team to have its own D-League affiliate.
