Granada winger Dani Benitez was hit with a three-month suspension by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Wednesday after an incident which took place at the end of Saturday's match with Real Madrid.

The game saw Madrid score two times in the last nine minutes to snatch a 2-1 win, while the final whistle saw match referee Carlos Clos Gomez confronted by Granada players, including Benitez, who threw a plastic bottle at Gomez which struck him in the head.

Benitez has apologized for the incident but was still hit with the lengthy suspension.

Other members of Granada's club have also been handed bans with defender Siqueira and midfielder Moises Hurtado both getting four games after picking up red cards at the end of the game, while Inaki Garcia and David Navarro, both members of the backroom staff, got suspensions of two and four games respectively.

Granada enters the final weekend of the season in 15th place, but just two points above the relegation zone.
