MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Minnesota Gophers cornerback Jalen Myrick was released from a Columbus, Ohio, hospital on Tuesday after being hospitalized with a rib injury sustained during Saturday's loss at Ohio State.

Interim coach Tracy Claeys said Myrick was on his way back to Minnesota and will likely miss the rest of this season. Myrick had 26 tackles in nine games this season and led the Gophers with three interceptions.

Myrick suffered the injury in Saturday's 28-14 loss. Claeys said Myrick will likely need three to four weeks to heal. Minnesota has three games remaining, beginning with a trip to No. 8 Iowa this week.
