Gonzaga downs Clemson

Elias Harris and Kelly Olynyk each netted 13 points to lift No. 17 Gonzaga over Clemson, 57-49. at the Old Spice Classic on Thursday.

Harris hauled in nine rebounds and dished out four assists, while Olynyk shot 5-for-9 from the field for the Bulldogs (4-0), who will face undefeated Oklahoma on Friday.

Sam Dower finished with 11 points off the bench in the victory.

In its first defeat of the season, Adonis Filer was the lone player for Clemson (2-1) in double figures. He finished with 10 points for the Tigers, who will take on Utep on Friday.

The two teams played a tight first half, with Clemson carrying a 24-23 advantage into the final 20 minutes, but the Bulldogs took a 29-27 lead following a pair of Olynyk free throws.

Harris then capped an 8-0 spurt for Gonzaga with a layup to put the Bulldogs ahead, 47-39, and Dower's bucket a minute later saw their lead balloon to double-digits.

Filer buried a 3-pointer with 1:37 left to play to pull the Tigers within seven, but they never got any closer, as Dower connected on 3-of-4 free throws from that point on to seal the win.

Game Notes

The Bulldogs shot 70 percent from the field in the second half ... Gonzaga improved to 2-0 all-time against Clemson.
