Giants sign Pro Bowl safety Rolle

EAST RUTHERFORD (Reuters) - The New York Giants have signed Pro Bowl safety Antrel Rolle, the NFL team said on their website on Friday.

The deal was worth $37 million over five years, with $15 million guaranteed, and makes him the highest-paid safety to play in the NFL, according to local media.

"I'm ecstatic," the Giants' website quoted Rolle as saying.

"Words can't really express how I feel. I had five great years with the Cardinals organization. But I felt it was time for a change.

"The Giants are a first-class organization all the way. There are great opportunities for me, and I am excited to be working with the players I'll be working with. I think the sky's going to be the limit as to what we can do."

The Cardinals released Rolle, originally drafted by Arizona in 2005, on Thursday. Last season with the Cardinals he had four interceptions and 72 tackles in 15 games.
