EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) Jason Pierre-Paul will make his season debut for the New York Giants against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, four months after he lost an index finger in a fireworks accident.

The two-time Pro Bowl defensive end practiced this week and was added to the active roster Saturday. He played his last game for the Giants in December 2014, and had nine sacks over the last five games for a team-high 12 1/2 for the season.

Pierre-Paul lost his finger, among other injuries to his right hand. Pierre-Paul was cleared to return to the field last week after rehabbing and working out near his Florida home.

New York placed linebacker Jon Beason on injured reserve because of injuries to his knee and ankle. He played in five games and had his season cut short by injury for the second consecutive year.
