San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Buster Posey hit a two-run homer, and the playoff-bound San Francisco Giants finished the regular season with a 9-3 win over the San Diego Padres on Sunday.

Joaquin Arias doubled home two runs in a four-run seventh inning for the Giants (88-74), who will travel to Pittsburgh to play the Pirates in the NL wild card game on Wednesday.

"I expect to see a great ballgame," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said.

San Francisco gave Chris Heston his first big league start and it didn't begin well.

The Padres (77-85) opened the game with four consecutive singles and a Seth Smith sacrifice fly made it 2-0.

Robbie Erlin (4-5) served up Posey's home run in the bottom of the first, then loaded the bases with no outs in the second. Gregor Blanco had a sac fly before Joe Panik drove in a run with a single to make it 4-2 and end Erlin's outing.

"It was a lot of balls in the middle and counts not in his favor," Padres manager Bud Black said of Erlin.

Pinch-hitter Adam Duvall homered in the fourth to give the Giants a 5-3 lead.

The Giants broke the game open in the seventh. Gary Brown hit an RBI single and scored along with Panik on a double by Arias, who came around on a single by pinch-hitter Matt Duffy.

After Heston worked the first four innings, Tim Lincecum (12-9) tossed two frames to earn the win.

Game Notes

The Giants were 5-for-12 with runners in scoring position ... San Diego still won the season series, 10-9.
