Giants, Crawford agree to 1-year deal

San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco Giants and infielder Brandon Crawford won't be heading to arbitration, after the club announced a one-year deal to keep him in the fold.

The Chronicle reported on Tuesday that the deal is worth $3.175 million for the upcoming season. Crawford was looking for $3.95M while the team was offering $2.4, according to the paper.

The 28-year-old shortstop hit .246 and collected 10 home runs, 20 doubles, a career-best 10 triples and knocked in a personal-high 69 runs over 153 games for the World Champion Giants a season ago. He hit .304 with four RBI in a seven-game triumph over the Royals in the Fall Classic.

Since breaking into the majors during the 2011 season, the southern California native is a lifetime .242 hitter who has posted 26 homers, 75 doubles and 178 RBI in 511 games.

Crawford has also racked up a .971 career fielding percentage, with 61 errors on 2,077 chances.
