Giants announce NLDS roster

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco Giants announced their 25-man roster for the best-of-five National League Division Series against the Washington Nationals beginning on Friday.

The Giants advanced to the NLDS with an 8-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the wild-card game Wednesday night. Madison Bumgarner pitched a four-hit shutout and Brandon Crawford hit the fourth playoff grand slam in team history.

Game 1 starter Jake Peavy will be joined by fellow starters Tim Hudson, Ryan Vogelsong, Yusmeiro Petit and Bumgarner. The bullpen is comprised of closer Santiago Casilla, Jeremy Affeldt, Tim Lincecum, Javier Lopez, Jean Machi, Sergio Romo and Hunter Strickland.

Hudson, the Game 2 starter, and Vogelsong were added for this round.

Buster Posey and Andrew Susac are the two catchers on the roster, while Joaquin Arias, Brandon Belt, Crawford, Matt Duffy, Joe Panik and Pablo Sandoval round out the infield. The outfield consists of Gregor Blanco, Gary Brown, Travis Ishikawa, Hunter Pence and Juan Perez.

Catcher Guillermo Quiroz and infielder Adam Duvall were taken off the roster.
