Giants add Hendricks to replace Kennedy

Published November 20, 2014

The New York Giants have promoted defensive tackle Dwayne Hendricks from the practice squad to the active roster.

Hendricks will fill the roster vacancy created when defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy was suspended four games for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

Originally signed by the Giants as a rookie free agent in May of 2009, Hendricks has never appeared in a regular-season game. He spent the final 10 weeks of the 2009 season on the team's practice squad and was part of the club's practice squad for seven weeks last year.

The Miami-Florida product played in four preseason games for the Giants this summer and was signed to the practice squad after being among the team's final cuts in September.
