Stuttgart, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - A best-of-five Fed Cup quarterfinal tie between host Germany and Australia will be staged at Stuttgart's Porsche Arena this weekend, with the Germans featuring two of the top-12 players in the world.

Saturday's opening singles will pit 10th-ranked Angelique Kerber against Jarmila Gajdosova and world No. 12 Andrea Petkovic versus former U.S. Open champion Sam Stosur of Australia.

Sunday's reverse singles have Kerber taking on Stosur and Petkovic facing Gajdosova, while the Day 2 doubles rubber has a German team of former Wimbledon runner-up Sabine Lisicki and Julia Goerges opposing an Aussie tandem of Stosur and Casey Dellacqua.

The Germans are captained by Barbara Rittner, while Alicia Molik guides Australia.

The winner in Stuttgart will face either Russia or Poland in a semifinal in April.

The seven-time Fed Cup champion Aussies are 8-5 all-time versus the two-time winner Germany, but the Germans have won two of their last three meetings.

Germany was last year's Fed Cup runner-up to the Czech Republic.
