Khaalidah Miller scored 15 points off the bench, all on 3-pointers, to lead Georgia to a 61-51 win over South Carolina on Sunday in the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams.

The freshman guard scored 12 points in the first half as the Bulldogs (11-3) built a 40-17 lead.

Ashley Bruner led South Carolina (8-6) with 16 points.

After Bruner's layup with 11:21 to go in the first half brought South Carolina even at 12-12, the Lady Dogs did not allow another field goal in the first half. Miller hit all four of her 3-point attempts and Meredith Mitchell made 5 of 6 field goals as Georgia outscored the Lady Gamecocks 28-5 over the remainder of the half. South Carolina got as close as 48-42 after three free throws by Marah Strickland with 7:36 to play. But Jasmine Hassell made two baskets, and Miller added her fifth 3-pointer to halt the Lady Gamecock rally.
