Florida State's offense hasn't exactly lit the college world on fire over its first three games, so the No. 11 Seminoles (3-0, 1-0 ACC) spent their bye week looking to figure out ways to add more punch to their attack.

FSU averages 35.7 points per game, but that number is a bit inflated by its 59-16 season-opening victory over Texas State. After that, Florida State topped USF, 34-14, and beat Boston College, 14-0.

Slow starts have plagued the Seminoles, who have scored only one touchdown in the first half of their last two games.

FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher feels that once Notre Dame senior transfer quarterback Everett Golson gets more acclimated with the offense the Seminoles will produce points faster.

"I think he will (improve) as his knowledge of what's going on gets better," Fisher said. "I think he did that last week some and felt better and hopefully will continue to do that.

"It's not a direct criticism on him or that I think he's at fault for what's going on. But what I do think is that, the quarterback, you get that ball all the time. We want to be perfect all the time, knowing we never will be, but we've got to be excellent in the meantime. I think that's where he's going to get to and I think that's his mentality."

On the season, Golson has completed 48 of his 75 pass attempts and ranks ninth in the ACC with 584 passing yards, while his six touchdowns ties for third.

The Seminoles will be back in action this Saturday when it plays at Wake Forest at 3:30 p.m.
