Friedel pens contract extension at Tottenham

Tottenham announced Wednesday that it has signed veteran American goalkeeper Brad Friedel to a contract extension. Terms of the extension were not disclosed.

The 41-year-old is the oldest player in the Premier League and holds the distinction of being the only player in the history of the division to start 300 consecutive matches.

Friedel began the season as Tottenham's first-choice 'keeper but has since been replaced in the side by France international Hugo Lloris, who joined Spurs during the summer.
