Frankie Edgar's coach: Conor McGregor's path to the belt has been fraudulent

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor won four of his first five fights inside the Octagon by knockout before winning the interim title in 2015 and unifying it later that year.
But according to Mark Henry, the striking coach of featherweight contender and former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar, McGregor's title run was tailor-made for his success.
"In the military, I think it would be a good job for Conor (clearing) landmines." Henry told MMA Junkie Radio. "Somehow he missed (Darren) Elkins, somehow he missed (Clay) Guida, somehow he missed (Dennis) Bermudez, somehow he missed (Ricardo) Lamas, somehow he missed (Chad) Mendes with a full camp. Somehow he missed Frankie.
"Fraud. That's been his path. Frankie's gone a different path."
McGregor beat Marcus Brimage, Max Holloway, Diego Brandao, Dustin Poirier and Dennis Siver, none of which were ranked in the division's top five, to earn a shot at the 145-pound.
Edgar has been lobbying for a shot at Conor McGregor since the Irishman took the interim title against Mendes and the callouts intensified after he beat Jose Aldo in 13 seconds at UFC 194. During that span, Edgar managed impressive wins over Urijah Faber and Chad Mendes.
With Jose Aldo on the horizon for Edgar at UFC 200, it looks like the former champion is The Answer's final obstacle before getting a shot at McGregor the featherweight title.
