Former NBA Player Crittenton to Face Murder Charge

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

Former Washington Wizards guard Javaris Crittenton is back in Atlanta to face a murder charge in a woman's shooting death.

Crittenton is charged in the death of 22-year-old Julian Jones, a mother of four who was hit by gunfire during a drive-by shooting. Crittenton has denied any involvement in the shooting.

Fulton County sheriff's spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan says Crittenton arrived Thursday from Los Angeles and is being held at the county jail. She said he's expected to have a first appearance before a magistrate at 11 a.m. Friday at the jail.

Crittenton was detained at a California airport two weeks ago when he was about to board a flight to Atlanta.

He was suspended from the NBA along with ex-teammate Gilbert Arenas for having guns in a locker room.
