Former LSU QB Perrilloux returning to Louisiana to play in Arena Football League

Published January 08, 2015

Associated Press

Ryan Perrilloux, who was kicked off LSU's football team months before he was expected to become the Tigers' starting quarterback, is returning to his native Louisiana to play in the Arena Football League.

The New Orleans VooDoo says Perrilloux has been assigned to its 2014 preseason roster.

Perrilloux played for LSU's 2007-08 national title team, starting twice as a sophomore because of injuries to Matt Flynn. His starts included LSU's victory over Tennessee in the Southeastern Conference title game, but trouble off the field and violations of team rules led to his dismissal before his junior season.

Perrilloux finished his college career at Jacksonville State. He saw brief preseason action with the NFL's New York Giants and also has played professionally in the CFL and UFL.
