Former champion Petkovic rallies to beat Min and reach Gastein Ladies final in Austria

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

Andrea Petkovic reached her second final of the season by beating Grace Min of the United States 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 at the Gastein Ladies tournament on Saturday.

The 20th-ranked German, who won her third career title in Charleston in April, will play either the second-seeded Sara Errani of Italy or American qualifier Shelby Rogers in Sunday's final.

Petkovic, who won the event in 2009, broke Min at 3-3 in the final set and missed one match point on the American's serve before closing out the match in the next game.

Rain interrupted play for 1 ½ hours after the opening game of the final set.

The 138th-ranked Min had never been beyond the second round of a WTA event before.
