Since walking away from football, Chris Borland has been outspoken, detailing his reasoning behind retiring from the game.

In an interview with ESPN that aired this week, Borland was candid in speaking about the dangers of concussions.

His former teammate, Eric Reid, holds no ill will towards Borland for what he believes.

"You have to respect the way he feels about it," Reid said, via ESPN. "I mean, football is a violent sport. But you know what you sign up for when you put those shoulder pads on, and, you know, I agree with certain aspects of it, [and] I disagree with certain aspects of it, but, like I say, you have to respect his decision either way."
