Fordham uses workhouse Edmonds to beat Lafayette 35-7

EASTON, Pa. (AP) Chase Edmonds ran for 234 yards and two touchdowns to lead Fordham in a rout over Lafayette 35-7 on Saturday.

Lafayette grabbed its only lead of the game 15 seconds into the contest when DeSean Brown ran 10 yards to score to make it 7-0. The play was set up when the Leopards' Alex Merriman recovered Jihaad Pretlow's fumble on the opening kickoff.

Fordham tied the score at 7 when Kevin Anderson completed a 5-yard touchdown to Phazahn Odom. Edmonds scored on a 67-yard jaunt to put Lafayette up 14-7. Kendall Pearcey had a 16-yard touchdown run to make it 21-7 at half.

The Rams (4-1, 1-0 Patriot League) continued their domination when Anderson threw a 71-yard touchdown pass to Corey Craddle to make it 28-7. Edmonds' 1-yard touchdown iced the game.

Drew Reed threw for 221 yards for the Leopards (1-4, 0-1).
