WHAT'S AT STAKE
Last nonconference home tuneup for the Bearcats is a game UC really didn't want to play. The school scrambled to fill this date with a Patriot League opponent when TCU reneged on its commitment to join the Big East this season and instead joined the Big 12. For the Rams, it would be the school's biggest win since it moved back to Division I in the early 1990s.
KEY MATCHUP
Rams passing game vs. Cincinnati's pass defense. In his first season as Fordham coach, former UConn assistant Joe Moorhead has the Rams slinging it around. They rank 20th in passing yards per game at 267 behind QB Ryan Higgins. The Bearcats have one of the best pass rushes in the Big East, led by DE Walter Stewart.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Fordham: K/P Patrick Murray is one of the best in the country. He's 12-for-14 on field goals, including 3 for 4 on kicks of at least 50 yards. He's also averaging 46 yards per kick.
Cincinnati: QB Munchie Legaux. The Bearcats multitalented QB probably won't have to work much more than a half, so get there early. He's fun to watch, passing for 235 yards per game and running for 6.2 yards per carry.
