Flyers' Couturier recovering from abdominal surgery

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Flyers announced Wednesday that center Sean Couturier underwent abdominal surgery last week.

New general manager Ron Hextall said in a statement that Couturier will need 5-to-6 weeks for a full recovery. He already has begun his rehab.

Couturier, 21, posted a career-high 39 points and tied a personal-best in goals with 13 while playing all 82 games last season.
