Fiorentina signs Italian striker Toni

Fiorentina signed former Italy striker Luca Toni from United Arab Emirates club Al Nasr on Friday on a one-year deal.

Toni, 35, returns to Fiorentina five years after he left to join Bayern Munich in Germany. He previously played in Florence from 2005-07. He has also played at Juventus and Palermo, among others, during his long club career.

Capped 47 times for Italy from 2004-09, Toni scored 16 goals for his country.

Fiorentina also swooped for midfielder Cristian Llama from Catania on a one- year deal before the end of the transfer window.
