Filipe signs Atletico extension

Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis has signed a contract extension with the club that keeps him in the Spanish capital until June 2017.

Filipe joined Atletico from Deportivo in 2010 and appeared in 88 games for the club since his arrival, helping them capture the UEFA Super Cup in 2010 as well as the Europa League this past season.

"Last season was the best of my career and right now I feel important in the dressing room," Filipe said on Atletico's website.

"I hope to fulfill my contract because Atletico Madrid will return to be where they deserve to be and I'm happy to form part of the history of the club."
