Feyenoord's Van Haaren to miss six weeks

Feyenoord midfielder Ricky van Haaren has suffered a torn ankle ligament that will keep him out for the next six weeks, it was confirmed by the club.

Van Haaren has appeared in six Eredivisie matches this season for Feyenoord, but suffered the injury in training on Wednesday and has undergone tests to confirm the extent of the problem.

"Ricky van Haaren is certainly not usable for Feyenoord for six weeks," read a club statement. "The midfielder has a torn ankle ligament, as is shown by tests at the hospital."

Feyenoord will return to action on January 22 at Venlo after entering the winter break in fifth place in the league table.
