Fans fall from Georgia Tech stadium twice in 2 weeks

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

For the second time in two weeks, a Georgia Tech fan has fallen from the stands at Atlanta's Bobby Dodd stadium during a Yellow Jackets football game.

WXIA-TV reports a freshman student was treated for a shoulder injury Saturday after he fell 15 feet from his seat as Georgia Tech played Middle Tennessee State. School athletic officials say the student was leaning over to talk to someone when he fell into the passageway leading out of the stadium.

The previous weekend, a fan fell 35 feet from the stands during the Georgia-Tech Miami game.

Both times the fallen fans were treated and released from Grady Hospital with no serious injuries reported. Georgia Tech officials say the falls were accidents caused by the fans themselves.
