Fabio Fognini defeats Tommy Robredo to reach clay-court final in Buenos Aires

Second-seeded Fabio Fognini of Italy defeated Tommy Robredo of Spain 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 Saturday to reach the final of the Copa Claro clay-court tournament in the Argentine capital.

Fognini won the ATP event last week in Chile, picking up his third singles title.

Top-seeded David Ferrer of Spain and countryman Nicolas Almagro meet in the other semifinal. Both have been dominant players on the Latin American clay-court circuit. Ferrer has 20 ATP singles titles and Almagro has 12.
